AHA 2020 Guidelines 

AHA ACLS Hands on skills session:

This is for students who have completed (or will complete) the AHA Heartcode ACLS online portion prior to attending the Hands on skills session portion.

Classroom portion Duration: 3-8 Hours

The course duration varies considerably based on both the number of learners and their experience. We generally offer smaller classes with shorter durations.

what to expect during the ACLS hands on skills session: 

• An overview of the BLS component of ACLS followed by a high quality BLS skills test.
• An overview of the airway management techniques followed by airway management skills test.
• An explanation of the cardiac arrest algorithm and the reversible causes of cardiac arrest (Hs and Ts) followed by a megacode skills test.

For successful course completion: 

students must demonstrate skills competency in all learning stations, pass the high-quality BLS skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, the Megacode test and pass a post course exam. Upon successful completion, students receive an ACLS course completion card.
